Just received a sizable piece of tanned antelope hide from a relative in Arizona. The hair is really nice and the colors are gorgeous. Brown has much more of an orange hue than deer or elk.
Thinking about using it in my dry patterns in place of my deer and elk. Has anyone ever used antelope hair? If so, what has been your conclusion regarding performance, durability, etc.

Many years ago. I found it difficult to use because the fibers are extremely hollow in comparison to elk or deer. It could have been that the hair I was using came from a spot on the hide that was not preferred for tying.
Agree with your assessment on coloration. It would probably make for some highly visible caddis imitations.
