Ok a few clues for you !
1 the tail and abdomen are the same material, hen was close but not it.

2 the wing material was used during WWII for pilots and is still used today in some things

3 the thorax is a material most of you throw away from the feather..

Sandfly must have a friend who is a barber. I'd swear that fly is made completely out of clippings off of the barber shop floor. :)

My guess is marabou for the tail and abdomen, goose down for the wing, and philoplume fibers for the thorax.

Or it could be nose hairs for the tail and abdomen, ear hairs for the wing, and belly button lint for the thorax.

Yay beady, pm me your addy (forgot if i still have it) and send off a package to ya !!!!

Milkweed was used in life preservers during WWII along with kapok. it is still used in the making of non-alergenic pillows and such. It makes a good substitude for cdc, it repells water.....it has been used if the tying of flies over the years....
