Hello everyone

I just moved to the south hills of Pittsburgh and was looking into the local creeks around my house...I went down and checked out mingo creek right in the beginning of the park...the creek seemed in nice shape with some good fishing spots but didn't see any fish...I looked at the stocking schedule from last year and saw they only stocked it early season...if anyone had any info on the creek the advice would be greatly appreciated

Ya it sucks, by summer it tends to be very low and almost no oxygen for the fish. It is fine during trout season, normally till about the end of may you will catch trout. Now they will swim out of the park and further down the creek, I have caught them as late as July and saw a big Pali in August, but it is very rare. if you are looking for an Opening day and 3 or 4 weeks after spot, this is it. If you want a spot that fishes well all year round for trout, look to the mountains.
