Just got back from Salmon River this weekend and am going to visit family in Pittsburgh so planning to make a run up to Erie. Any idea on which Tribs are fishing best? Trying to avoid Walnut if possible. Had good luck on Elk in the fall. Anyone one else planning to head out for the spring run?

They are forecasting to get over an inch of Rain Thursday and and Inch of snow Friday - My bet is the mile creeks will be the only game in town if there are any players.

I'm guessing the tribs in Ohio will be blown out later this week as well, if they aren't already.

In Ohio, the Grand, Chagrin, and Rocky are currently blown out. Any more rain this week will just make it more difficult for the weekend. The creeks that feed into these may be fishable.

Weather later this week:
TonightA slight chance of showers before 10pm. Cloudy, with a low around 39. Breezy, with a west wind 18 to 23 mph decreasing to 11 to 16 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
WednesdayPartly sunny, with a high near 58. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon.
Wednesday NightA chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 10pm. Low around 46. East wind 15 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
ThursdayShowers. High near 52. Southeast wind 7 to 15 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Thursday NightRain showers before 2am, then snow showers. Low around 36. Northwest wind 14 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
FridaySnow showers before 2pm, then rain and snow showers. High near 40. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Friday NightRain, possibly mixed with snow showers before 8pm, then a chance of snow showers. Low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Snow melt will also cool the streams.

Feeder creeks will likely be the only game in town...last weekend they produced well. But definitely stay away from the Grand and the other larger water (unless you plan to whitewater raft!).

Had a banner day on Ohio tribs Friday. Still plenty of (very large) fish in the system.
