Curious if any one has been out on Penns since the rains and cooler temps.

If I remember they had closed a section of that to fishing. Does anyone know if that has been lifted? I'm thinking about planning a trip soon but don't want to jump the gun.

Anyone know how the temps have been? The flows on usgs look close to normal for this time of year.

Also any tips for fall fishing on Penns?

Thread down in Fishing Locations where a lot of what you seek is being discussed.

I got to be honest I never noticed that forum section! Thanks for the tip

It's still horribly low now. We need lots and lots of rain.

The gauge reads 57 cfs. That's pitifully low.

I fished Penns at 375 cfs and I thought that was about perfect.

Fished all day Monday. Parked at the lot above wiekert and 3 of us worked our way up. Even after all that rain, still crazy low. Few skinny browns on soft hackles. All agreed that it wasn't worth the trip.

I ended up going out this morning for the hell of it. One nice brown, one small brown and a bunch of chubs. I should have listened because the water was terribly low. Agreed not worth the trip.

The nice brown I caught was long and skinny

The fish are skinny because they've been just surviving, not thriving, during the drought.
