Good morning all,

The dumping of frac fluids into our streams has generated alot of press, as well as reader comments to those stories.

Given the interest to anglers, I have compiled many stories from different newspapers around the state into the PA Camo Coalition news page: http://www.pacamocoalition.org/news.shtml

There is also a good story in there about the Leasing Ban from the Johnstown Tribune Review. In addition, I noticed there was a well-read thread regarding rights of landowners who do not own the subsurface rights. There is a story on the page that looks at a proposed law that would give surface landowners more rights.

Later today, there will be a pdf posted on the News You Can Use page that describes the Bureau of Forestry's Brook Trout Conservation Plan for 2010-2015. That will be found at http://www.pacamocoalition.org/news2use.shtml.

Hope this information is useful to you.

thank you Ed!

I like the idea of a law to protect property owners. like the article said, most companies are working with people, but there are always those that don't.
at least it's a start. just a shame none of this started happening about 5 years ago.

I'm just glad this water isn't degrading our drinking water. At least it was only 3.6 million barrels.

At least they are sorry. I think they might even be nicer than the folks at Range Resources, and from what I hear on tv and radio they are some of the kindest most loving people on the planet.

Of course this kind of news is not unexpected........ We have not yet begun to see the effects of this free for all drilling. This is just the beginning! :-x

I live in lower Bucks County. We get a percentage of our drinking water from the Neshaminy Creek. I always figured the only way fracking would affect me was in my enjoyment of the outdoors and fishing.
