There's a great write up on the Donegal Fish Conservation Association in today's edition of the Lancaster paper -

DFCA Turns 50

"The club gave Lancaster County its first fly-fishing-only stream in 1967, and Pennsylvania its first stream with a total maximum daily load limit — a restriction on pollutants from farm runoff, set by state environmental officials."

We just had a little get together where Mr. Depoe presented a great history of the stream and the work that has been done on it.

I've got to say, not only has this group introduced me to conservation, but has also truly introduced me into fly fishing by meeting fellow anglers and sharing knowledge and camaraderie. It's groups like these that pass on the greatest virtues or fly fishing.
