The project might not be completely dead, but hopefully it will be soon enough. Some resources are more precious than whatever gold they could extract there.

So long as there is money to be made by moneyed interests, I am sure the dream of of an open Earth raping pit will not die.

Tiogadog is right. The land rapists will not give up, and they certainly will tell any lies necessary to further their aims.

But, for now, this seems to be a positive first step.
