LJ, who the hell are you

are you going to stop or not?

The vast majority of your rants were in the OT forum, and since I seldom visited there, it was possible to ignore you. At this point, I see no distinction between you and our former friend Spyder. If I were you, I wouldn't complain about the moderators, because if I and quite a few others on this board were a mod, you'd be "band."

OK here is what happened, something killed every macro in 13 miles of river, NOT ONE TROUT KILLED!! They were STARVING

Set scene

River flooded

Pesticide facility on banks of river

Pallets of concentrated pesticide on pallets in the parking lot. I am assuming the concentrated pesticide is heavier than water or it would not dissolve

Pesticide facility flooded gaping hole in the foundation

Where would you look

I saw trout rise in the flat pool immediately below the bridge in the Spring.

DEP issued the permit

DEP investigated the incident (maybe)

3 or 4 govt agencies assigned to monitor the river

the flood was in Jan, what the help were they doing

so we have weather event that may never occur again

and all they did was sit on their azzes, no one bothered to look, not even the PFBC

"Don't Call Me Till The Rivers On Fire"

any DEP guys or PFBC guys have any interest in explaining this?

That sucks. What year? I'd say it has recovered well, considering.

Perhaps you'd have more luck using these resources than a fly fishing message board.

Thanks...Lj has quipped snippets of slightly discernible bits about this over the years but nothing of substance. I can at least look it up now. Frankly, it sounds like a damn shame but I'd say it fished extraordinarily well, considering.

For readers

The Little Juniata today nearly 15 years later is still only half the stream it was before the macro kill.

Trout down at least 20 percent in weight and power

No Green Caddis

No Green Drakes

No crayfish

Anyone who knows anything about the river or fly fishing would know that

that takes care of the "rationalization" experts

Sulphurs and Grannoms aren't really particular where they live

I suspect all bugs are making a comeback as a result of their presence on many of the tributaries. Were there Green Drakes before 1996?

Lj I only started fishing the little J in the last 3 years. I have no idea what they weighed before that. This is why I asked for info. I would think anyone who knew anything about the river would be willing to share that kind of information rather than being rude to those wanting to learn more.

By the way, there are crayfish, and I witnessed a very large one above Spruce Creek a mile or so.

One year I was sitting on the river, it was Green Drake time there wee millions of drakes over the river.

Spring of 96 I saw one Drake, right in front of the cabin

the drake was being attacked by 1 or 2 starving trout possibly more?

I have seen signs of Green Caddis on the lower river but they are carnivores and the last to come back

as are crayfish

DEP or the Fish commission will not answer the challenge

unless it would be

"That Was Unbelievably Stupid To Have The Facility There"

that is why the anointed ones response is "unbelievably stupid"

I want the question answered in a public forum

NOW consider how many other such stupid devices, plants decisions, etc the DEP has made that have not come to light yet!

The only way to stop them is to expose them

DEP will permit anything as long as it doesn't kill babys"

You may quote me on that

to them

and in this instance the PAFBC rolled over

How about you quote yourself to them on this subject. No one in this forum has volunteered to be your personal public relations representative.
