Hello everyone, this site was suggested to me and I thought I would try it out. I am from Southwest PA in Fayette County. Hunting, fishing, and camping are the major activities I enjoy. I have never fly fished before but have wanted to for a long time. Well as luck would have it my girlfriend has very good friends in both Montana and Idaho so I decided now is the time to get off my butt and actually learn to fly fish. Right now I am in the research phase. I am trying to figure out the best equipment for a beginner and the best "how to" guides available. Any help you guys could offer would really be appreciated. It is a pleasure to be here. Thanks for creating this site.

Welcome to the forum and FFing!!!!!!I'm pretty new myself and still in the learning phase.....If I can give any advice it would dont be afraid to ask questions, Learn Patience!!!!!!!! And definitely do research on reading water, learn what hatches around you. Definitely take the time to practice your casting. Once you learn to cast and present your fly, things will eventually fall into place. Good luck in your new hobby!!!! you will enjoy a lifetime of learning and have fun in the process!!!!
