wet flies are very underrated and extremely effective. any time that trout are taking emerging insects, try a wet fly. they are easy and fun to tie, they don't need to be complicated, just tie up some with 3 or 4 different color bodies in a few different sizes. I just use the same color partridge hackle, usually only one turn of the hackle is enough. I like a hares ear color, an olive, a dark brown or black, and a cream colored one. they are killer on bluegills too!!
there's a reason they were a popular fly for a couple hundred years, they work!!
