I was leafing through the most recent Fly Fisherman Magazine (I believe) at the book store over the weekend and it's a great read for a new fly fisherman. The whole issue is devoted to people just starting out. It covers topics like gear needed, knots, casting, etc. Everything you need to get started is right there or to brush up on the basics. For a couple bucks, it's a great place to start!

Used to subscribe but for some reason i gravitated toward Fly Rod and Reel , i think it was the Geirach peice at the end that did it , Nick Lyons did that for Fly Fisherman for many years , he wrote some great stuff and his wife Marie i beleive her name was did watercolors for every article , Nick was cool but so is Geirach , more blue collar , except for his Cover shot as angler of the Year!!!! RY......i'm gonna pick one up at Gander Mt. , haven't read one in awhile.
