Finally!!!

After getting skunked my last 5 outings (including a guided 4 hour saltwater fly fishing outing) I finally broke the schnide! Went out on a whim this morning. Grabbed my unstrung FF rod, spinner, waders, hat, vest, and headed out the door....

Long story short... 8 fish in all. 3 sunnies on spinner, 4 sunnies and one 14" Brownie on fly. The current through the hole was very slow, so I was stripping a woolly worm when I got the brownie (lost my last bugger on my last outing). I released it back without so much as a photo.

As a reward to myself, I picked up an Orvis Access II reel. The Passage reel was driving me crazy. I can't wait for FF201 in 2 weeks, and then to get back out.

To me, to catch trout on fly gear is like a dam. The skunks build up and build up, then it finally releases and the water (trout) come much easier. It's just the initial breakthrough that's tough to get past. I've had two friends that lasted a total of three fishing trips combined.
Some have the will, some don't.
