I doubt many of you are from NE Pa, Scranton area but they had a nice adult fly fishing class. $25. they provided the equipment, a boxed lunch and a years membership to TU. Nice package. I know a nice man I work with signed up so I can't wait to see how he did. I don't know many other places with offers that good. SCTU and A&G outfitters.

FYI, my guess is that this store is an authorized Orvis dealer, as they have a program in conjunction with TU where they are putting on these programs. You have to log into TU website to get partner shops but here is the details.

Event Overview
TU and Orvis have partnered together to offer a new industry event aimed at introducing people to Trout Unlimited and the sport of fly fishing. The event is called Fly Fishing 101 and will kick-off on Saturday, July 3, 2010.

Event Dates
Classes will occur every Saturday in July from 9AM-12PM at participating Orvis stores and dealers (see the list of participating locations below).

Event Itinerary
Each Orvis store and participating dealer will hold consecutive half hour time slots of casting instruction followed by a half hour of tackle and rigging instruction - a total of three one hour groups at each location. Spaces are limited at each location so attendees must RSVP to reserve their spot. The number of spots available will vary by location and the number of available instructors.

Once instruction is completed, each attendee will receive a $15 savings card good toward Orvis gear. Additionally, each group attendee will receive a certificate for a free Trout Unlimited membership – a $35 value.

TU Volunteers
Volunteers are needed at these classes to help instruct basic fly casting lessons, gear assembly, leader connection, knot tying, and fly selection.

If you're interested in volunteering, please contact the fishing manager or store manager at your local Orvis shop.

*Participating volunteers will receive a $30 Orvis savings card for each Saturday event that they volunteer at.
