On Wednesday March 19, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Farm and Home Center on Acadia Road in Lancaster, PA. The Chapter is presenting a seminar by two of our members, John McClain and Todd Peters, on soft hackle fly tying and fishing.

Their presentation will cover some of the locations, tactics, flies, and strategies they have found successful in over 70 combined years of fly fishing. Their tackle over-view will cover rods, leaders, weight, and hook care to make soft hackle and wet fly fishing effective.

John McClain, has been fly fishing for over 48 years and fly tying for over 46. He has managed a fly shop for 5 years and guided for 4 years. He has taught at beginner and intermediate fly fishing schools.

Todd Peters has been fly fishing for 22 years and fly tying for 20 years. He has worked part time in a fly shop for 3 years and taught at beginner and intermediate fly fishing schools.

In 2011 they formed Soft Hackle Specialties to help educate and guide anglers in the sport of fly-fishing, with a strong emphasis on wet flies and soft-hackle fishing. Combined they spend 140 days a year on streams exploring tactics, flies, and locations. Currently they offer fly tying lessons and on-water fishing instruction for both groups and individuals.

*** A complete fly fishing outfit (rod, line, leader already rigged) and some of their flies will be raffled off at the event****
